Giant snake found in the Red Sea

Analysis: You must be wondering if the snake is real. Yes, it is!!. As a matter of fact, it is the only real thing in the photos you will see below. Everything else you see, the vehicles, the tanks, the soldiers standing next to the “giant” snake – are all toys. Which means that the “giant” snake is, at most, two or three meters long. Which in the low-resolution photos posted on the internet is a little difficult to see and even more difficult to believe.

Largest than all known species

If these images were authentic in every aspect, we would have to estimate the size of the snake at around 70 meters long – more than twice the length of all known species to date. The largest anaconda ever found measured about 28 meters long and 44 centimeters in diameter. The largest python measured 33 meters long. The fossilized vertebrae of a prehistoric snake known as Titanoboa cerrejonensis indicate a maximum length of 40 to 50 m, but the species became extinct about 60 million years ago.

As for the Arabs’ claim that the snake was captured by divers in the Red Sea, there are two objections:

1) The snake depicted in the photos is not a sea serpent.

2) Scientists say that there are no snakes in the Red Sea, due to its extreme salinity.

Source of the images
The low-resolution composite image above began appearing on Persian Arabic-language websites in mid-2012, accompanied by contradictory claims that the “giant” snake had recently been found in the Red Sea off the coast of Egypt (see article).

The images are from May 2010 and were originally posted on a forum frequented by Vietnamese students under the title “Vietnamese Army Captures Giant Snake”.

Below are some of the photos in a slightly higher resolution.
