Ultraviolet takes viewers to a dystopian future where Violet Song Jat Shariff (Milla Jovovich), a genetically engineered woman, has become humanity’s last hope against a tyrannical regime. In a world ravaged by a blood-borne disease that grants superhuman abilities, Violet is part of a persecuted group called the “hemophages.”

The film is set in a dystopian future where a subculture of humans called Hemophages, who have been genetically engineered by a vampire-like disease, are persecuted by the government.
