Wednesday Season 2 Trailer 2025

Starring Jenna Ortega and Georgie Farmer
Wednesday is an American supernatural horror comedy television series based on the character Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family. Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the series stars Jenna Ortega as the title character, with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, Gwendoline Christie, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Fred Armisen, and Christina Ricci in supporting roles. Four of the eight episodes were directed by Tim Burton, who also served as executive producer. The series centers on the title character, who attempts to solve a monster mystery at his school.
Burton was previously involved in two Addams Family-related projects: a 1991 film that he turned down and a canceled stop-motion animated film. In October 2020, it was reported that he was directing a television series, which was later given a series order from Netflix. Filming took place in Romania from September 2021 to March 2022. Wednesday premiered on November 16, 2022, and was released on Netflix on November 23 to positive reviews from critics, who praised Ortega’s performance but found some similarities to CW dramas. Within two weeks of its premiere, it became Netflix’s third most-watched English-language series.
Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) doesn’t have time in her schedule to make your eyes bleed — right now. She’s too busy visiting her nemesis, Tyler (Hunter Doohan), at the mental institution where he’s being held. A brand-new excerpt from Season 2 released as part of the Next on Netflix event proves just that: Haunting footage teases the thrilling upcoming episodes, which will premiere in 2025.
“This season, Wednesday’s journey gets darker and more complicated as she navigates family, friends, new mysteries, and old enemies, thrusting her into another year at Nevermore,” showrunners and executive producers Al Gough and Miles Millar told Tudum.
While Nevermore Academy’s #1 teen detective is the only cast member in the chilling drama, we know she’ll be joined by familiar faces—and exciting new characters—when Wednesday returns. Cast members Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair), Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay), Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams) and Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams) all appeared in a recent Geeked Week 2024 short, alongside director and executive producer Tim Burton.
“This season is going to be bigger and weirder than you could ever imagine,” Zeta-Jones assures in the clip, as we see the cast and crew busy around the Nevermore Academy set. You’ll have to press play on the scene above to see what other secrets and surprises lurk in the trailer.
Zeta-Jones’ words echo those of Gough and Millar. “We’re looking forward to exploring more Addams Family lore and are thrilled to introduce a new roster of incredible characters,” the executive producers say.
