War Heroes: Brothers in Arms (2024)

Brothers in Arms 3: Sons of War is a 2014 World War II third-person shooter video game developed by Gameloft in collaboration with Gearbox Software and published by Gameloft. The game was released on December 17, 2014 for iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. The game serves as a sequel to Brothers in Arms: Hour of Heroes and Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front and is still set in World War II. It is part of the Brothers in Arms series. Brothers in Arms 3: Sons of War, like the previous games, is set in World War II, this time in Normandy, in 1944. The game begins with the protagonist, Sergeant Cole Wright, starting to write a diary about his experiences during the war. His squad is tasked with attacking a forest village in France to retrieve enemy documents from an occupied mansion. While they were able to find the files, one of Wright’s brothers, Jacob Hall, was killed by an enemy sniper while escaping the area. Later in the game, he was rendered unusable and his icon showed that he had died in action. A month later, Wright was sent on a rescue mission, to retrieve Rachelle Dubois, known as “L’Hirondelle”, a French Resistance fighter from enemy forces. With the assistance of his teammates, Wright was able to rescue “L’Hirondelle” and her group. During their time together, the two fell in love.
Wright later recalled being part of the attack on Monte Cassino, Italy, in January. His group was sent to recover the remains of the original attack team that had failed and completed the mission on their own. Additionally, they were tasked with finding and eliminating General Karl Herst, the commander of the forces in the area. During the mission, Cole rescued Cain Lawrence, a member of the original team, but failed to save the others. As the attack progressed, Wright discovered Herst and attempted to pursue, but failed to take out the General. After rescuing “L’Hirondelle”, Wright’s team was ordered to intercept an enemy supply convoy to Falaise, France. Cole’s team disrupted their communications and diverted the enemy convoy to an ambush point. Wright and his team were successful in their attack, stopping the convoy from reaching the city.
A few days earlier, Sergeant Wright’s team had been ordered to infiltrate a Gestapo building in Paris to find information on prisoner of war camps for future rescue missions. However, the team found nothing and were forced to retreat due to enemy reinforcements. The mission was not a complete failure, as they located and captured General Alder, in order to obtain information. Months later, Major Bastion, Wright’s commanding officer, told him that Sam Foster, a fellow soldier who had rescued him from captivity in 1942, was actually a spy. Wright had been captured after being ambushed when their intelligence was poor, and Foster had rescued him. His team was sent to Belgium and tracked him down. Wright eventually killed Foster, and thought about what kind of man he would become, as he felt no remorse for killing him, even though he had saved him.
In February 1945, months later, Sergeant Wright was sent to Trier, Germany to stop the German “Weapons of Vengeance” program, which was causing civilian casualties. His team attacked the facility and successfully destroyed the weapons, preventing them from being used. The following month, Bastion finally tracked down General Herst, the same general who had escaped Wright at Monte Cassino. Herst was found heading to Aalborg, Denmark, to a German outpost and bunker. However, Wright and his squad were able to ambush his convoy. However, Herst fled to the bunker, but bombers bombed it, causing it to collapse. Wright, not wanting him to escape again, pursued him. Cole shot Karl Herst, as he tried to escape from the exploding bunker. Outside the bunker, Wright killed the general. However, during the pursuit, Wright was also wounded and died shortly thereafter.
Another soldier was transferred from Major Bastion to Cherbourg on March 14, 1944, a year before Cole’s death, he was sent to protect valuable photographs stolen from the enemy, but at first he could not believe that he and his squad would have to do it. But he promised to protect them. After the explosion of the C4 Mines that were placed to protect the road, he ambushed through the city’s harbor with his team, fighting the harbor soldiers. He then finally secured the photos with his team, who had come to his aid. They successfully brought them to the rescue point and soon after, they left Cherbourg.
